Commissioner Says....

Isn’t it wonderful that we are going to have three festivals coming up soon? We will be celebrating Dassera, Diwali and Christmas in the next three months. Mumbai has always set an example of unity and harmony during religious festivals. And this has been the enviable strength of the citizens who have overcome challenges with a spirit of trust and goodness.

Let us strengthen this example by making the three festivals occasions of joy and sharing of goodwill and confidence. As always the POLICE will be beefing up security and streamlining the traffic movements to make your celebration and enjoyment safe and anxiety-free.

Even as we do our jobs diligently we request the citizens to extend their support by staying vigilant and cautious. I appeal to Mumbaikars to report any suspicious movements in their neighborhood, any abandoned objects, any comings and

goings of individuals they have reason to suspect to the Police without delay and hesitation. Your one phone call or information may help us save hundreds of lives. To those who commute by trains, buses, rickshaws and taxis I would appeal vigilance in noticing any object left behind and bringing it to our immediate attention. The same caution is advised when you are in any crowded place like markets, shopping centres etc. This is not to alarm you or diminish your festivities and entertainment but only to ensure that you enjoy the celebrations safely. As you are aware, it has become an absolute necessity that we join hands in making Mumbai the city of harmony and safe co-existence.
