The importance of warming up

When an athlete does a warm-up, there is a rush of oxygenated blood in his body. Thanks to this, the side effects of muscle work will be eliminated.
Proper warming up will reliably protect the body from severe overloading, preparing it for an intensive workout. The warm-up significantly reduces the risk of sprains, dislocations, and, in extreme cases, fractures. It is an integral part of the training process. Of course, it will not add strength or muscle mass, but will prevent from the above-mentioned injuries.
There are a huge number of different exercises to fully warm up the muscle fibers. Many people warm up by jogging or on a stationary bike. This kind of warm-up will increase the heart rate and blood pressure and warm up the muscles.
Gymnastic exercises also warm up the muscles without a lot of effort. The most common method of warming up is exercises with dumbbells and other sports equipment. To begin with, you need to do a few pull-ups, and then perform a couple of easy approaches with dumbbells.
Before you start exercising, you should perform a few warm-up sets. This is done in order to get the muscle used to this action. When an athlete performs the so-called zero approach with a large repetition before the direct start of the exercise, he will then have no problems when working with large weights.
Do not forget that the time of day has a direct impact on the duration of the warm-up. Early in the morning, the body will still be in a sluggish state, so the warm-up will have to spend a little more time than it would be in the evening. A clear schedule for warming up is needed here.
Many bodybuilders get injured during strength exercises; there are only two reasons for this – an illiterate warm-up or a broken technique of exercising.
It is worth noting that age has a major impact on a person’s athletic abilities. The older the athlete, the more important is protection from injury. Young athletes can get away with things that would be devastating to older athletes. However, any athlete, regardless of age, should be able to warm up properly. Warming up should be a habit, and the sooner it gets there, the better.
